ABOUT US

SO WHO ARE WE

As a team, Ian, Jules and Karen have been working together in the residential building industry for over 35 years now.

All three of us work on each and every project to contribute our individual areas of expertise. We nurture the strong connections that we have with council, architectural draughts people, suppliers and subcontractors.

We enjoy each other’s company and the mutual challenge of the building process – we love what we do.

Our Principle

“All parties to the design and construction process have to work together to achieve a successful outcome.”

IAN INGLIS

Ian joined the building industry as a hammer hand and has successfully worked his way through the positions of Sales Manager, Estimates Manager and Managing Director of many well known housing and development company brands.

With many years of experience in managing projects in land development, residential housing, including multi million dollar homes including commercial renovations and fit outs. Ian has overseen and controlled many projects from concept to completion, and is well versed in council and consent processes, and the associated planning and management of consultants often required in larger projects and resource consent applications.

Ian’s roles at HarbourCity are mainly focused on estimating and contractual matters and assisting in sub- contractor appointment and coordination of trades.

“Building a house involves many decisions so communication is of paramount importance. A scope of work and expectations need to be clearly identified for the builders and the client alike. It is never too early to start the conversation.”

JULES LEE

With over 37 years in the building and carpentry trade, Jules has a passion for working in the building industry.
Jules is a Licensed Building Practitioner with Site 2 Certificate.

As a trade qualified carpenter, Jules is responsible for all of HarbourCity’s on site requirements, from liaising and coordination of sub-contractors and suppliers, problem solving and dealing with architects, consultants, engineers and council.

Jules’ onsite management is essential to ensuring that a project runs smoothly and is delivered to the high standard required. This is where Jules’ understanding of building codes, product knowledge and quality control comes into play.
Working alongside clients and listening to your needs is the first step and then putting these dreams into reality, Jules can be relied upon to bring your project to life.
“I pride myself on what I do and always strive to get the best result. I take the technical builds on as a challenge, and this inspires me to keep doing the job I love every day.
I am always open to new ideas, new products and building techniques and I enjoy working with designers and architects to create something new and unique.”

KAREN GLENISTER

With over 35 years of experience in the residential building environment and in diverse roles as project coordination, project management, contract administration and client liaison.

Karen is responsible for the coordination of client requests and variations, purchase ordering, subcontractor appointment and council documentation. Karen’s diligence and attention to detail gives HarbourCity a real grounding and allows the company to be successful and compliant in todays regulatory environment.
“I am devoted to ensuring your building experience is an enjoyable and hassle free one.”
